It was the summer of 1939, and school-aged friends Ivan Kranofsky and Hyman Goldenstein have no worries in the world except how to capture the attention of the beautiful Brenda Cropsky. But by September, their modest lives are shattered as Nazi tanks push through their small town of Bruzgi, Poland destroying everything in their wake.
