Fiddler’s Rose

Can a sorceress (who is turning into a dragon) find happiness with the ghost of a unicorn? Fiddler’s Rose is an epic quest wrapped around a love story set in a quasi-medieval magical otherworld, told almost entirely in deft, naturalistic dialog that is usually witty, sometimes hilarious, and occasionally profound. The main characters are very real, in spite of the fact that neither of them is quite human. While the format significantly limits sensory information, it also presents emotional reality with rare clarity as the characters face horror, despair, and joy in the course of their journey.
