These are the true stories, memories, and reflections of a boy growing up in a small farming town in Southwest Arizona. It is about how the author, as a young boy, found life and how to deal with it through his love for horses. It's about a place of heat and relentless sunshine, where shade and water were the best things one could find. Yuma was the town and is the place where restaurants will give you a free meal any day the Sun doesn't shine. It's the story of how a boy grew into a man's world quickly. Horses, as this boy came to know them, were born and bred for sport, and his calling as a Bronc Rider was heard early in his youth. Not growing up on a farm or around livestock didn't diminish the drive this boy found in rodeo sports and in particular Saddle Bronc Riding.
From grade school throughout his high school years, the adventures he shared with his brother are the stories to be told in his time with horses. The ups and downs, the happiness and the pain were what led this boy to seek out his own worth in a man's world. These are those stories.
