It’s the first day of summer vacation and soon-to-be sixth grader Tommy Weebler is bored. Same goes for his three best friends, Raul Mendoza, Dory Drake and Wilbur Federson. The reason is simple. Nothing exciting ever happens in Fillmore, California.

Tommy and his friends call themselves The Protectinators, a team created to protect them from the hazards kids face on a daily basis, especially a bully named Eddie Sykles.

When they discover a new family has moved into town, The Protectinators decide to investigate, which is how they meet Evan Steven, a frightened young boy claiming he and his parents are hiding out in Fillmore to escape the wrath of criminals determined to do his family harm.

Evan Steven begs Tommy and his friends to keep him and his parents safe by promising to watch out for any strangers they might see lurking around Fillmore.

The Protectinators agree to help their new friend and embark upon a wild adventure that pits them against impossible creatures and a mysterious interplanetary bounty hunter named Kyle.

Is Tommy Weebler still bored? No way. Not when he and The Protectinators must do everything within their power if they want to survive the most dangerous summer of their lives.
