Says the author, I wanted to explore the backgrounds of certain characters and get a glimpse of their futures. Developing a second book in the Kingdom X series allowed me to go further with their stories. I felt readers will be gratified to know how challenges define the characters and I wanted to explore their futures.

The book’s characters came to author J. A. Whitzel in a dream. The characters and story from her first book stuck with me and I found myself asking questions about them constantly. I had to explore their individual stories further. I realized my dream by writing the Kingdom X series, and dedicate this second book to my cousin, Thad G. Gayman, a legend in his own time taken too soon from this world. He would have been ecstatic that I have realized my dream. The author resides in a small town in Pennsylvania.
