Eliza is a young girl who draws water from a well and sells drinks to travelers for food and coins to make a living. She is an orphan. One day she sees four men walking toward her and, she gives them a drink of water. She later learns who these men are.
Eliza picked up one water jug and put the rope over her head and across her shoulder. She did the same with the other jug on her other side. She then hung her leather pouch around her neck, and it hung down in front. She picked up the gourd used for dipping and drinking water, then started her daily journey.
