Tom faces a dilemma. In his mid-teens, he discovers he has the ability to move small objects using only the power of his mental concentration. Professors, famous magicians, frat brothers, and Tom’s girlfriend all offer opinions and guidance, ranging from sarcastic skepticism to awe-struck encouragement. Over time, Tom weighs the pros and cons of letting his on-and-off mental abilities out into a world seeking an authentic shaman.
