The Revelation was given to the people of God to comfort them, in every generation, because those who follow the Lamb will have tribulation. Nevertheless, despite the hardships of life, there is the hope of eternity, which God has placed in the hearts of His people. In order to encourage individuals not to lose faith, the apostle John was given a wonderful vision set in heaven for all who believe. There are spectacular sights and sounds to behold in Revelation, such as the throne of God, the resurrected Christ in His majestic glory, the worship of the Elders, the Living Creatures, the Martyred saints, and a great multitude which no man can number. There are songs to sing, praise to offer, and joy unspeakable. Prayers uttered in heaven are answered. Tears are wiped away. There is the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, with streets of gold, and fruit to eat and be satisfied. Paradise lost is paradise restored. In contrast, for those who dwell on earth, presented in Revelation as the ungodly and unbelieving, there are unspeakable woes, deceptions, and utter ruin for those who do not repent but follow the Dragon, that Old Serpent, the Devil, who leads angels, and men, to utter ruin and eternal destruction. There are blessings associated with those who hear the Revelation read, embrace its truths, and love not their lives even unto death. So, return to Revelation and behold the Lamb, and those who overcome every obstacle to enjoy eternal life with Christ. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And who-soever will, let him take the water of life freely (Rev. 22:17).
