Dick Dillard owns a small publishing company in the Los Angeles area, and for the most part, minds his own business as a misanthropic editor who holds up in his office reading shitty manuscripts all day long. However, when a tenet is beheaded on his floor, he finds that he’s a better detective than the local police, and sets out to prove it, only he discovers that he might have been the target.
