The Artist Residency Workshop series responsible for this publication offered creative writing workshops called Remembering the Riots with the support of the Los Angeles Public Library-Exposition Park Regional Branch. This series examined the effects the 1992 Los Angeles Riots had on our local community, and ultimately attempted to answer the question: How much has really changed in LA?

Gathered here are the stories, poetry, images, and voice of the community that lived through 6 days of looting, heartache, violence, and ultimately, unity against injustice.

All sales from this book will benefit DSTL Arts’ arts-based programs for at-risk youth and adults.
