Gammon Theological Seminary, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is the United Methodist constituent member of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), a consortium of historically African American theological schools. Gammon/ITC is a co-educational, professional graduate school of theology. Founded in 1883 by the Methodist Episcopal Church and with assistance from Rev. Elijah H. Gammon and the Freed-men’s Aid Society, today Gammon Theological Seminary is one of the 13 theological schools of The United Methodist Church. The faculty and administration of Gammon/ITC create an environment in which critical thinking, investigative reflection, decision making, and responsible action are fostered. Gammon/ITC is a member of the Atlanta University Center Complex, the world’s largest enterprise of African American higher education.
