Stephen messaged his temples as he sat alone in the dark inside a small, jail cell in Calvin’s Point Georgia accused of a murder he didn’t commit. A musty smell filled the room and it was stifling. A horrendous storm had killed all the power in town. His hands trembled as tears filled his eyes. He thought maybe he was losing his mind. Terrifying nightmares would take him away from his home for days at a time, plunging him into different dimensions where evil beings tried to strip him of his faith and take his life. When he returned home, no one knew that he had been gone. God help Me!! Stephen cried. Is this real or a dream? Mom am I really this special person you told me about? If this is special I don’t want it!
Stephen stood and wiped his face with his shirt sleeve and made his way to cell door.
He seized the bars with his freezing hands. As he tried to pray, movement from the shadows caused his body to jerk.
A low deep voice from the corner chuckled, Poor, Stephen, all alone. Are you really worried about losing your mind? You know, what’s true, what’s not true. Stephen, Stephen, Stephen. I will help you by telling you’re not losing your mind. I am really Shemed and I am really going to kill you.
