As the author of this book, I want to apologize if this book makes you feel sad. Those are not fun things to feel or think about.
I do believe that those feelings and thoughts are important. Stories of pain are important. Stories where bad things happen are important to read because bad things do happen, and I believe that if more stories about people who had bad things happen to them are told, those bad things will happen less.
