Why all the secrets?

Jeff Daniels thought he had hit the jackpot when he met Shawna Reese at a fancy banquet that his friend, Kevin Swensen had cajoled him into attending. Shawna was strikingly beautiful and very sweet. Jeff thought this may be "the one".

However, as time went on, things were not adding up with this girl. He repeatedly caught her in lie after lie.

Then her younger brother came to live with her, a nefarious looking kid that seemed to have even more secrets than his sister.

Despite warnings from his best friend, Kevin, Jeff was besotted, unable to cool things with Shawna.

As he became more deeply involved, he realized he was, indeed, "in over his head."
