In a vehicle accident, Lola perished.
The battle between the Darkling Demons and the Purgatory soldiers known as the Guardians of Zion had been waging for thousands of years when she found herself in the afterlife.
She found that God and the Angels were real. But the devils were there too.
The only person to have witnessed the afterlife and reported what she saw was Lola. She witnessed the battle between the Guardians and the Darklings for each soul that entered Purgatory. In order for the souls to pass judgement and continue their journey to the next level of the Afterlife, the Darklings sought to enslave them, and the Guardians were doing everything in their might to save them.
The sole city in Purgatory, where all the souls were waiting for judgement, was under attack by the Darklings, who also plotted to take the Heavenly Salve of Archangel Raphael, the city's only defence.
Lola seized the chance to return to the living world and assist the Guardians in locating the artefact that had been keeping the Iduri City safe.
She yearned to return to the lively world of the living in order to visit her family, the boy she admired, and her friends.
Going back to the living, however, meant she would have to say goodbye to the one boy she had met in the afterlife who had always been there to keep her safe.
Would Lola abandon HIM?
