Deputy Sheriff Jane Clark had been in law enforcement for nearly thirty years and was looking forward to retirement. Her plan was to coast through her remaining time on the force, retire with her newly found love, Alice, and live happily on her small organic farm. Her farm was near Hank, a fairly uneventful community, nestled in the Ozark hills of southern Missouri.
