There may have been times when you have been hurt by not only friends but those that were the closest to you. You may even think back to times when you have given so much of yourself in relationships and friendships only to find that you were being misused or abused. You then think to yourself and wonder how could you let this happen.Sometimes you may have even felt that you are the only one going through this. Well, my friend, the truth of the matter is that we have all had our share of being broken. We have all been through some dark days, hard times, and lonely moments. We all have had experiences of being hurt, in other words, being broken. If you look hard and be completely honest with yourself, some of us are still experiencing some dark days in the valley.The sad truth is that there is a two-fold experience to being broken that we never really hear or teach about. As humans, we naturally only focus on the one side of being broken-the part that hurts. Whether you are the preacher or teacher, the usher or deacon, choir member or musician, or simply a visitor or member on the pew, you have experienced being broken. There is yet another experience of being broken. I’d like to call it the ‘flip side of brokenness’. This book is about going and growing through a ‘broken’ life. There comes a point in this journey call life, when everything fails. No psychiatrist can help. No self-help books work. No spa can spare relief. It is at this point, that you reach out to God. This book is about reaching out to God, or so you think, only to find that you still are broken and healing did not take place when you expected it. This book will expose some valuable truths about being in the church, saved, and helping others only to find yourself still on a broken pew (maybe a broken pew yourself). This book will also share a few testimonials of the two sides of brokenness. Most importantly, as you embark on this journey of Broken Pews, may the Spirit of God reign over your life, may he lift the Spirit of heaviness, give you beauty for ashes, and enlarge your territory.
