The loves we experience
time and time again
how they crash and retreat
with the tide of emotions that run
through us-
bobbing and weaving under the depths,
sometimes leaving marks
and slashes
as the bad ones inevitably roll in.
They’ll kiss us with sweet lips,
laced with poison
meant to deceive us
and dilute our minds in false promise.
They lure us in
to capture our hearts
on the tides
of the shores of time.
And this is what they did to me.
The shores of time live deep in all of us.
If you look closely,
it’s always there.
