The church of Jesus’ day didn’t welcome this man and his teachings into their carefully constructed path to religious redemption.

Even those who believed in Jesus thought he came to free the Israelites from their Roman oppressors.

It was up to Jesus to set the record straight with the Sermon on the Mount and the nine Beatitudes.
