Alethea Kontis is a storm chaser, world traveler, and New York Times bestselling author. Janet K. Lee is an award-winning artist and author. She has illustrated numerous books including the Eisner-winning Return of the Dapper Men, The Trot & Cap'n Bill Adventure series, and comics for Marvel, Image, Oni, and Boom. Currently, Janet is working on her first solo project, a slightly autobiographical, middle-grade graphic novel. Janet lives in Nashville, Tennessee with two friendly humans, one angry fish, and five very bad cats. When she isn't writing and drawing, Janet can usually be found outside in the garden.
Alethea and Janet worked at the same book wholesaler from 2000-2009 and bonded over their mutual love of books, pop culture, and Dragon Con. They enjoyed working on various creative projects together, including Diary of a Mad Scientist Garden Gnome and The Wonderland Alphabet.
