Twenty-three remarkable and intensely personal testimonies of former Roman Catholic nuns each who wanted to become a "bride of Christ" as a means of living a devoted life to God in His service. But in the midst of each woman's servitude to God was an inner turmoil and emptiness that created an overwhelming spiritual void. The stories span England, Ireland, Scotland, Spain, the United States, South America, Germany, Switzerland, and Canada, while each revealing a religious system that could not fulfill the longing for God's peace and assurance of salvation.

The stories are of women, some of whom spent decades within the structure of the Catholic Church, who eventually took hold of the promises of God's Word such as, "Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart."
