The King of Mervolingia was in danger. She just knew it. Tanglwyst de Holloway was a fugitive, wanted in the murder of King Charles. After her desperate escape from house arrest, she had fled almost to the Papal City and into the sanctuary of the Church and her family. She could see the spires of her grandfather’s home, and the light in his windows.

But then came the absolute knowledge that Alexander was going to be attacked. She couldn’t tell if it was a vision, fear, or gift, but she knew beyond all doubt that he would be killed if she didn’t save him.
