Her name is Olivia Catherine Amanda Mae Brown, but her teasing classmates call her Round. What Olivia really wants is to be a butterfly and dance in the play, The Backyard Ballet. But some mean girls in her class have bullied her into believing that she’s too fat to be floating gracefully in the air. Before she can forget their taunts and truly believe in herself, she’ll need to learn valuable lessons in grandma’s garden and go on a fantastic midnight adventure. Will she learn that like the butterfly beauty comes in all shapes and sizes? And can she learn to trust herself in time to take the stage for the big performance? Although ROUND ( inspired by the author’s daughter) has an anti-bullying message; it is much more than that. It’s an imaginative story told in bouncy rhyme that encourages children to embrace their individuality and believe in themselves from the inside out. ROUND’s targeted audience are children 0 to 10 years-old and beyond.
