Nate Mathews, an addict in recovery, must break out of prison in order to survive Hurricane Katrina. Days pass without nourishment as he and fellow prisoners wait for rescue on a rooftop. Then,

held under armed guard on a crowded interstate bridge, and finally evacuated to a dangerous prison yard,
