Moses Howard is an American writer and educator. The poems in this collection reflect his personal life and experiences as an educator and counselor for students at risk. Born in rural Mississippi, Dr. Howard holds degrees in biology, chemistry, and administration and counseling, supplemented with certificates for human services, chemical dependency, and writing. Dr. Howard has taught science at the middle school, high school, and community college levels. He served as a high school assistant principal and was dean and director of sciences at a community college. In 1961, Howard traveled to Uganda as a Fulbright Scholar. He remained in Africa for ten years as a researcher and teacher of teachers under the United States Agency for International Development (TEEA). In addition to this poetry collection, Dr. Howard is the author of fiction for children, young adults, and adults, including the fictional biography, Nzinga - African Warrior Queen. He lives in Tacoma, Washington.
