The story of Bar Shakhehaye Entezar has been written in 2 parts. The first part of the book focuses on the life of a lonely man, Sadra, who overcomes different obstacles and never lets fear hold him back from pursuing his dreams. All the events of the story happen over the course of 40 years. The first part of the book ends with Islamic revolution of Iran in 1357. The second part of the book focuses on many of the political and cultural tension in Iran, the infamous 8 year war between Iran and Iraq, which brutally put an end to the hopes and aspirations of the youth of Iran. Furthermore the story evokes the difference of two generations, showing their contradictory beliefs and values. This eventually leads to moral conflict and creates a division between two generations (father and son). The story also portrays a wounded country (Iran) in anticipation of finding a real remedy. Bar Shakhehaye Entezar is a patriotic story about a group of people who sacrificed everything to protect their homeland and their rights for freedom.
