Torval, Demon Third Class, Layer Four Hundred Twelve of the Eighth Circle of Hell, has been walking his route torturing sinners for as long as he can remember. It’s the only job he’s ever had or wanted, and he’s never had any reason to question why he does what he does. Everything’s perfect in his little corner of the universe, until one day he witnesses something so shocking, so impossible, it shakes him to the core.
