Prism: Psychological Thrillers

These two stories are both psychological thrillers, both having to do with how reality is seen through the eyes of the beholder. Ace storyteller, Jeffrey French, weaves together themes of intrigue, crime and psychology, and in the second story, also adds in a dash of science fiction. The first story, Trigger Point, takes us through a kaleidoscope of the world as seen through the different personas of a split-personality. She’s unusually beautiful physically; all her personalities are strong and appealing; and she uses all this to great advantage. The plot is skillfully interwoven with subplots and numerous other characters who are all drawn into the web of intrigue surrounding the main character. The Runner is a story about a character who thinks he knows who he is, and has the memories to convince him of it, but he can’t quite piece together why he is being pursued and tortured and asked questions about things he has no notion of… The ending is not what one would expect from a story about combat veterans chasing someone very good at eluding them… French skillfully ties together all the action and drama in this compelling page-turner…The author, J. Jason French, draws from his myriad experiences growing up in Southern California, as well as living in Europe, to give us rich, multi-textured stories.
