Friendly Schools Plus Evidence for Practice:: Whole-School Strategies to Enhance Students’ Social Skills and Reduce Bullying in Schools

The Friendly Schools Plus series by Donna Cross, Shane Thompson, and Erin Erceg uses an evidence-based, whole-school approach to reduce bullying and to foster a supportive school culture. This approach recognizes that all aspects of students’ school life influence their academic performance and health. The seven Friendly Schools Plus resources provide educators with tools to create effective programs that support students academically and socially, help students practice healthy interpersonal behaviors in school and online, and encourage parental and stakeholder school involvement. They also provide strategies to support bullied students, improve student behavior, and emphasize positive relationships between students and staff to sustain caring school cultures.
