FAKE NEWS!

If you're an author, you need not worry (yet) that artificial intelligence will take your job. Here's the proof. Carefully coaxed, Google's Bard, an AI (artificial intelligence) bot, hand-in-hand with an editor/publisher, created this novella, The Fake Hitman--the adventures of Ferdinand Fink, who is mistaken for El Buitre Cantor (The Singing Vulture), known assassin.

Get, the companion publication, The Creator Dialog to see how, prompt by prompt, the AI bot is coaxed to write a novel. Wholly written by Bard, The Fake Hitman is the result of responses to prompts by its editor. The result is credible, but Bard comes up a little short.

Still not ready to be set off on his own, Bard, however, does a masterful job of guiding himself to choices and possibilities that one's own imagination might have missed.

The Creator Dialog, the companion volume to the novel, published separately, has preserved the complete dialog between the editor and the author. Amazingly polite, Bard accepts suggestions and produces responses that are commercially useful, maintaining a polite, even temper, even when being yelled at!

So, authors of the future, Bard WILL take your job--just not yet!
