This collection of essays is offered in celebration of the life, ministry, and scholarship of H. Vinson Synan, Pentecostal historian, minister, educator, and ecumenist. Presented on the occasion of his eightieth birthday, 1 December 2014, the monograph is divided into four parts. Part One includes essays by S. David Moore and James Goff noting Synan’s work as renewal historiographer. Part Two includes four studies exploring various aspects of renewal history by D. William Faupel, David Edwin Harrell, the late Gary B. McGee, and Daniel Woods. Part Three contains four investigations devoted to renewal theology by the late Ralph Del Colle, James M. Henderson, Veli-Matti Karkkainen, and Frank D. Macchia. Part Four offers three essays that explore ecumenism by David Cole, Kevin M. Ranaghan, and Amos Yong. The studies contained in this Festschrift are a fitting tribute to Dr Synan, one of the most significant Pentecostal figures of the last century, who has lived much of the history that has changed the global religious and theological landscape. The volume was edited by his PhD students S. David Moore and James M. Henderson.
