Volume 2 is a collection of interviews with 25 property managers from across the United States specializing in commercial property management, community association management, residential property management, and management of vacation rentals. Although there are many commonalities among the interviewees, there is also a vast array of unique approaches that are described throughout the interviews. One common theme was the importance of networking and belonging to some of the most successful organizations in the property management industry, specifically the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and the National Apartment Association (NAA) were mentioned more than any others. The importance of good communication and people interaction skills were also mentioned quite often. With respect to the biggest challenges being faced by property managers, the economy was a clear stand out. What was most interesting is how everyone looked at the challenges from a different perspective and dealt with the issues in different ways. I was also fascinated by the diversity of answers to the question related to what they looked for in their employees.
