Jim Nash has been chasing the ghosts in his past for too long. Now, with a dead woman in his office, he has sworn to avenge her death. It doesn’t matter that the local police and his friend, Detective Boyle, have told him to stand down.

Bobbie Dawson, his business partner, has deserted him and disappeared. Nash thinks she might be out to avenge her friend’s death, but he’s not sure. He hasn’t had so much as a text from her. That won’t stop him from searching for her, though.

Bobbie’s recent replacement and her dog, Friday, keep handing Jim good-natured verbal abuse. He takes it in stride, but only because he thinks the huge black Lab has taken a liking to him.
