Kim Dorland is a rising star of the North American art world whose paintings, with their thick neon-tinged impasto, have been characterised as Tom Thomson on acid. Named Globe Arts Artist of the Year in 2013 , Dorland has had shows in Milan, New York, Los Angeles and across his native Canada, and his work is entering major public collections, including Musee des beaux-arts de Montreal and the Sander Collection in Berlin. AUTHOR: Katerina Atanassova is the curator of Canadian painting at the National Gallery of Canada. She curated the groundbreaking exhibition, You Are Here: Kim Dorland and the Return to Painting (2013). Robert Enright is the senior contributing editor and film critic for Border Crossings magazine and the University Research Chair in Art Theory and Criticism in the School of Fine Art and Music at the University of Guelph. In 2005 he was made a member of the Order of Canada. Jeffrey Spalding is an artist, writer, and curator.
