Three Out of Three

The Three out of Three series features 12 year old triplet brothers, Roscoe, Simione and Dan-Dan who live in rural New Zealand where their playground of forests and coastal waters tests their survival skills. Story One: EcoWarriers - Friend Tamehana invites the three boys and friend Katrina to an overnight stay on a protected island with his uncle, but when the uncle receives a call about a home emergency it seems the trip might be over when it has barely begun. They persuade him that they can look after themselves for the night. At dusk, a stealthy launch anchors offshore and traps are offloaded into a dinghy. Poachers! Story Two: Rata Retaliates - What should have been a simple shopping trip into town turns into a nightmare when the three boys and their German Shepherd dog, Rata, interrupt a bank robbery. Rata’s sense of smell transports her back to the horrific days when gang members stole her from her back yard to participate in their dog-fighting activities. On this day she gets her revenge. Story Three: Harbour lights - Katrina and her mother invite the three brothers to spend time in Auckland. The excitement of exploring New Zealand’s largest city brings the foursome head to head with the criminal underworld. Lost in the fog on the Auckland Harbour while tracking a professional gang, they are alerted to danger by the throb of a huge engine. They are in the shipping lane! A small penguin races in front of their launch and leads them to safety, out of the path of a container ship.
