Job Attitudes of Teaching Professional: A Study

The quality of education depends on the quality of teaching. Competent, committed and dedicated teachers are the greatest assets for any educational institution. Education as an instrument of change is difficult, complex, significant and of immediate requirement for the growth and development of the economy. Its effective use requires strength of will, knowledge, motivation, attitude and dedication to work and thus applies to all kinds of education, particularly higher education. The primary purpose of education is to provide an opportunity to develop the potentials of the human resource. In this background the present book entitled Job Attitudes of Teaching Professionals - A case study of University Teachers in the Karnataka State is a record of an in-depth study into the concepts of three important job attitudes like Job Satisfaction, Job Involvement and Organisational Commitments of the University teaching professionals. It also covers university teacher’s perception towards Student Evaluation of Teachers (SET) Performance. This book is structured into six chapters. In the first two chapters, the variables under study are introduced and conceptually and historically built into a theoretical model. Chapter Third, Fourth and Fifth discuss the statistical analysis, results and discussions on the main findings. Chapter sixth focuses on the implications, suggestions and future scope of the study.
