BREAKING THE CHAIN ON ABUSE is a part of the prevention and awareness 3 E’s Series. It covers every facet of abuse known to man, and focuses on educating, equipping and empowering the reader. Abuse knows no boundaries; it can affect all races, religions, the rich, the poor, in perfect looking families; it can happen in workplaces, in the school grounds, hospitals, anywhere. Without meaning to make you paranoid, beware abuse can be anywhere, even the most unlikely of places by the most unlikely of people. If we are really going to be honest with ourselves, almost everyone has been abused at some point in their lives of varying degrees. The checkout operator regularly gets abused by the customer; the bank teller held up at gunpoint, road rage, and scary neighbours, the list goes on. It really is all of our (societies, communities as well as our governments) responsibility to protect, stop, prevent and report abuse when we know about it and pull together and support the victims whether they be defenceless children, women, even some men and also defenceless animals, nature included. Let’s get wise on awareness and prevention on all types of abuse! Do we know someone being abused right now? Did you know you can do something to help another? Is there a child at school or in our neighbourhood that we feel may be abused? Is there a woman in your workplace that has unexplained bruises or something just isn’t right? Is there a pet we know is being abused? What about our elderly? Do we suspect something? Maybe this book has fallen into the right hands at the right time.. We all have a moral responsibility and obligation to help another in need. You may be their only lifeline. We can get that person help and still stay anonymous. Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake.
