Raised by loving parents, June overcame her disadvantaged start and in turn gave birth to two beautiful girls, Cathy and Lyndy. Tragically, disaster struck June’s life on 18 January 1977, when the Granville Train Disaster devastated New South Wales. Cathy and Lyndy, 19 and 18 years old respectively, were both passengers on the train that derailed and killed 83 people. Neither girl survived. June’s life was shattered and she was left with no one to help pick up the pieces. Battling depression and crippling despair, June struggled to patch her life back together.
