On 1st March 1917 HMS Pheasant struck a mine off Rora Head, Hoy, Orkney, whilst on regular patrol. All 89 men on board lost their lives. This book reveals the stories of the men and the communities they came from. It is a snapshot in time that would change forever in 1918 at the end of World War 1. A generation lost.
