Smile or Die

Shuji dreamed of becoming a police detective when he was younger. He never had any real mysteries to solve until one day he woke up in a terrifying setting. 600 students from different high schools (including Shuji) were abducted and placed in an underground city. They've been told that they will remain there for 365 days. Each day, a student will be executed. The person who will be executed is whoever the system deems to be the saddest. Originally published on Japanese light novel self-publishing site 'Syosetu' in 2022 and receiving an average of 4.5/5 stars, this edition of the book features a commissioned cover art by famous manga artist 'Ebiblue' as well as commissioned illustrations throughout the book by 'DD_EE_NN'.
