In order to prepare well for a social audit, it is important to understand what the legislation is trying to achieve in the supply chain.
Taking Germany as an example, it can be seen that two different ministries deal with supply chain legislation. One is the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (acts internally) and the Other is the Federal Ministry for Economic and Development (acts externally).
While two federal ministries deal with the different aspects of the law, every company
is expected to deal with the law in its entirety, responsibly and with the different aspects.
The vast majority of companies do not look inwards.
