This is a story about a man called John. When he was young, his heart was broken by a girl that he loved more than anything else. With the torment and humiliation he received from her, it destroyed his ability to feel love for anyone. It stayed with him throughout his entire life. At age 48, he died while saving a teenage girl's life.

When he woke up outside the gates of heaven, he was told that he wouldn't be able to go in until he found his soulmate. It was explained to him how soulmates are real, and only his soulmate can restore his ability to love. Then, he would be welcomed in heaven.
