The Downings Awakening is the third novel in JP Hidcote’s The Coulter Confessions series which tracks the chequered career of British Security Services operative Edwin Coulter from the early 80’s to the end of the 20th century. The Downings Awakening finds Coulter operating undercover in the Irish Republic in the dying weeks of 1984 with the Ulster Troubles at their height. It is a furiously paced tale of intrigue and betrayal which builds to a chilling climax as Coulter battles to stay alive under pressure from both friends and foes.
