College Girls is a coming-of-age story, full of fun, energy and emotion. Cathy, a recent boarding school graduate, moves to Dublin for college and finds a flat with two other boarding school survivors, happy to be away from oppressive nuns and an unhappy home. Despite the dismal conditions of the flat, all three are determined to make the best of it.

As the Troubles in Northern Ireland intensify, the girls must learn to navigate their new lives in a city seemingly oblivious to the struggles across the border.

Dublin offers them bohemian revelry, in a city slowly moving out of the hippy era. The girls experience heartache and betrayal, all the while staying connected through music and youthful exuberance. They learn about life and more about themselves while navigating the city's uncertainties.

Captivated by Rosie, the girl from the flat above, they make naive and impulsive decisions, leading to hurt and betrayal. Despite this, College Girls is full of humour and poignance, shot through with music from the 70s, as it celebrates friendships between young women and the pitfalls of growing up in an ever-changing world.
