During WW2 the sole survivor from a shot down Lancaster bomber is attempting to evade capture. Travelling through snow driven pine forests for several days and nights in an attempt to reach Switzerland, he comes across Hitler's retreat - The Eagle's Nest - in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, where he assassinates Adolf Hitler, is captured and after interrogation is sent to Dachau Concentration Camp as a "Nacht und Nebel" ("Night and Fog") prisoner - not to exist.
