Three

Two mysterious burglaries at private homes take place in rapid succession, and in both cases the perpetrators work quickly, leave no useful evidence behind, and demonstrate a disturbing bloodlust.

The police are stumped, and even when they stumble across a seemingly definite link between the two crimes, the investigation soon hits a dead-end when they realize that they still have no way to identify any suspects. Now a race is on: can a part-time journalist or a full-time investigator crack the case before three small-time criminals pick a new victim and pull off their third heist?
