So much has already been written about the difficulties over these last couple of years with first Brexit and then the pandemic, but here is the human angle from a woman’s point of view. Every day has been one of upset, shock and anger in equal measure at the stories behind the headlines and this book aims to give a voice to those people whose voices are not being heard. Although written first as a diary about the shortcomings of the government it gradually turned into a book. Different topics have been gathered into individual chapters on Women, Our Children, Asylum Seekers, Poverty and the Universal Credit, the NHS, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, Cuts to Foreign Aid, Housing, the Homeless and so much more. Then there is a long chapter on Contracts, Chumocracy, Transparency, and the Ministerial Code. This Prime Minister and his cabinet have a complete disregard for all regulations, rules and the law, and do not hesitate to try to change the law if it doesn’t suit them. It is all documented in this book and so to quote the final sentence in my Preface entitled ‘Six Impossible Things Before Breakfast’, hold tight, fasten your seatbelts, it is a bumpy ride!
