In this third and final book about The Longmynd Adventure Camp, Alan Scriven MBE shares unseen material and further anecdotes about his time as a beneficiary and staff member.
With some local history and correspondence from the Camp’s founder, Bill Williams, and some of the boys who attended the Camp, this presents a well-rounded history of the organisation as it once was. It is impossible not to be moved by the spirit of generosity of those involved, including Bill, Alan, and all the other people who gave their time free of charge to help create an unforgettable experience for the boys on Camp. Local people and businesses also became involved; with the loan of the land on which the Camps were held; money for outings; use of the swimming pool.
The Longmynd Adventure Camp was a shining example of a community coming together and Alan writes lovingly and evocatively about those golden days.
