social life. AUTHOR: Dr David Blackmore is the author of several books, including the acclaimed Destructive and Formidable, an account of British Infantry firepower from 1642 to 1765. He is also well known for his work on the English Civil Wars. He was formerly the Registrar of the Royal Armouries, is a reenactor of over 45 years experience, a keen horseman, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
