Three Plays For Radio Volume 1 - Over My Dead Body, Mr Lucas & The Caspary Affair

Besides the many crime thriller serials Francis Durbridge wrote for radio and television, he also wrote many single plays for radio. This first volume produces the original scripts of three of them: Over My Dead Body - Actors John and Sheila Nelson have appeared as detective Mark Conway and his wife Myra for longer than they care to remember, and they aspire to more serious roles and more realistic plots. Driving through Essex, they run into thick fog and seek directions at a large house - in which they discover a murdered man, and learn that fact can be stranger than fiction.

Mr Lucas - A valuable necklace, stolen in Copenhagen. is believed to be in the hands of a courier on a train from London to Carlisle. Among the many passengers is toy trader Mr Lucas, who might not be all he seems, but when the train crashes the search for the courier and the necklace is thrown into even greater confusion.

The Caspary Affair - A musical comedy actress leaves the stage after her marriage, and later forms a disastrous friendship with a famous pianist.
